Today is my turn to tell you all about the awesome Row by Row book from Moda and Martingale.
I am so excited to be a part of this book! A few days ago I got to see it on the bookshelf in our local book store – somewhere between 101 and crazy quilting, there it was. I quickly flipped through pages to find my row – I had to check if this was really happening or just a dream.
I still remember working on this project and the color inspiration.
I enjoyed piecing, appliqueing and choosing my favorite scraps for my row, but I wanted to make another one – there are so many to choose from, it might be hard to decide which row to make first – and which fabrics to use?
Oliver stepped right up to help me decide the fabrics – My new Blue Barn collection that will be available in Summer 2016!
That dog sure loves blue.
Almost as much as I love the blue sky.
What a lovely combination, “All in a Row” and “Blue Barn” fabrics.
Pat Sloan’s “Wash Day” row is so cute – this would be my first project from the book! Pat is working her magic on my row, please be sure to visit her blog today!
“Wash Day” is a simple applique with lots of personality, I love it and can’t wait to finish!
But I couldn’t just stop there, these Blue Barn fabrics and all of the rows kept calling to me. Every time I turned a page, I wanted to try a different one.
It felt like Christmas and I was getting all of the gifts :). In case you also find yourself in this dilemma, I thought that you would love to have my simple recipe for this beautiful Christmas Tree Quilt (56.5″ x 72.5″).
I paired some rows from the book keeping in mind that they need to be 14.5″ wide. Don’t forget about those additional blender rows near the back of the book to get your row wide enough. You can also adjust size with an extra strip if you prefer. In the middle of the tree I have placed measurements of how long each section of the tree should be. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!
I have to get back to making all of my Blue Barn quilts like this “Feathered Star”,
or my new Shining Star!
In the meantime, you’ll want to enter the “It’s a Beauty of a Book Contest” …
Buy the book and make your favorite row or rows. Then join the Facebook Group #AllInARowQuiltAlong and post a picture with your quilt top of rows joined together. One row … one entry. Two rows … two entries, etc.
Your Facebook name is the name that will be entered into the contest with and the winners will be privately messaged for details on where to ship the prizes (open only to USA entrants).
There are 5 major prizes … like the five finalists in a beauty pageant. Plus weekly random drawings for related “beauty” prizes. All to be drawn from entries mentioned above.
Happy Quilting and the best of luck to you in this fun contest – I can’t wait to see what you create!
