Block 10

We will be making 4 Block 10As, 4 Block 10Bs, and 8 Block 10Cs.

Cutting Directions:

Begin by cutting strips:

Dark blue fabric - 3 strips 2¾" x 20"

Light blue fabric - 1 strip 2¾" x 20"

Light fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"

Light fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"

Align your ruler and cut using 45 degree angle to create diamond shapes from 2¾" strips.

Please remember to measure 2¾" on the width of the diamond.

You will cut 4 diamonds from 1 light blue strip.

Repeat this step to cut 12 diamonds from 3 dark blue strips.

Alternative way of cutting with the Mystery Template G:

Position your Template G on the strip as shown above. Using your rotary, cut your diamond pieces.

You will cut 4 diamonds from 1 light blue strip.

Repeat this step to cut 12 diamonds from 3 dark blue strips.

Block Finishing

Edyta's Tip: Keep your ruler or templates handy after cutting.

They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your sewing points.

First mark your 1/4" sewing points then arrange your pieces with two matching light pieces on the top

and the blue diamond piece on the bottom as shown above.

Position the light piece over the blue diamond piece right sides together.

Pin and sew.

Press your seam open.

Place the remaining light piece over the unit right sides together.

Pin, sew, and press the seam.

Use your template A or ruler to trim.

16 total Block 10s

(4 Block 10As, 4 Block 10Bs, and 8 Block 10Cs)

Our Block 10 is very important in our quilt -it will appear in the center and on the outside of our unit.

You will position 8 Block 10Cs on the outside top row. At the bottom of our grid, you will position

4 Block 10As and 4 Block 10Bs. We will have more clues revealed in our final assembly

of the grid wedges, so please be patient as our design comes to life.

Happy Quilting!
