Mystery Quilt 2022 - Block 6

Welcome to Block 6 of our Mystery Quilt 2022!

Come sit with me for a quiet moment today and let's quilt.

Below is all the information you need to prepare before joining

For Block 6, you will need:

1 light fabric

1 blue fabric








Block 6


We will be making a total of 8 Block 6s.









Cutting Directions:

Begin by cutting strips:

Blue fabric - 1 strip 6½" x 20"

Blue fabric - 1 strip 4½" x 20"

Light fabric - 1 strip 2½" x 20"


Position your ruler matching the bottom edge of your fabric with the 6½" mark.

Pay attention that the width of your cut piece measures 2" wide. Cut 8 pieces.

On your smaller 4½" blue strip, position your ruler matching the top edge of your fabric strip.

Pay attention that the width of your

cut piece measures 2" wide.







For the light fabric, align your ruler and cut.


From one strip of light fabric, you

should be able to get 8 pieces.





Alternative way of cutting with the Mystery Templates D, E, and F



I love cutting this block with templates!

Position Template D on the 6½" blue strip and cut as shown for a total of 8 pieces.







Position Template E on the smaller 4½" blue strip and cut for a total of 8 pieces.






For the light fabric, align your

should be able to get 8 pieces.





Block Assembly

Edyta's Tip: Keep your ruler or templates handy after cutting.

They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your sewing points.

Arrange your pieces as shown above.

Edyta's Tip: Use your fabric markers to keep your pieces organized as you cut.

Pin the light piece right sides together to the smaller blue piece and sew as shown.

Press seam allowance.

Pin the larger blue piece to the previously sewn unit right sides together and sew.

Press seams. Repeat for a total of 8 Block 6s.

Use your template A or ruler to trim.


8 Block 6s


Our Block 6s will be positioned as shown above in our Mystery Quilt 2022 grid.

Just a reminder, we will be making 8 identical grid sections like this.
