Sew thankful you are quilting along with me! As promised, every Wednesday I am going to post the recipes for my Mini Winter Village Quilt. If you have any leftovers from your Winter Village Kit, make sure you save them to make this perfect little project!
Before we start, make sure to watch Week 1 video of the Winter Village Quilt Along on our YouTube channel to see how to calculate the mini block recipes. I am so excited to share this with you!
These are the first little cuties! Houses 1, 2, 3…
I just love to see the side by side comparison of the houses!
House 1 – Mini Recipe A – 2 rectangles 1” x 2” light fabric B – 1 square 2” x 2” light fabric C – 1 rectangle 3-1/2” x 2” blue fabric for roof D – 1 rectangle 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” blue fabric for house E – 1 rectangle 1” x 1-1/4” blue fabric for house F – 1 rectangle 1” x 2-1/4” blue fabric for house G – 1 rectangle 1” x 3-1/2” blue fabric for house H – 1 rectangle 1” x 2” blue fabric for chimney I – 1 rectangle 3-1/2” x 2-1/2” light fabric for background J – 1 rectangle 1-1/4” x 7” light fabric for sashing K– 1 square 1’’ x 1’’ light fabric for window
For House 2, I have simplified the windows a little bit more. You’ll notice this in the recipe below.
House 2 – Mini Recipe A – 1 rectangle 5” x 2-1/2” light fabric for background B – 1 rectangle 1-1/4” x 7” light fabric for sashing C – 1 rectangle 5” x 2” blue fabric for roof D – 2 quarter square triangles from 1 square 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” medium fabric, cut twice diagonally (unfinished QST will measure 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″) E – 2 quarter square triangles from 1 square 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” medium fabric, cut twice diagonally (unfinished QST will measure 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″) F – 1 rectangle 2-1/2” x 1-1/2” blue fabric for house G, H, I, J, K – I replaced all of the pieces with 1 rectangle 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” of blue fabric
I had so much fun on House 3 – I think these little blocks are even easier to make than the big ones, less room to make mistakes! 😊
House 3 – Mini Recipe A – 1 rectangle 1-3/4” x 3-1/2” blue fabric for roof B – 2 rectangles 1-1/4” x 5-1/4” blue fabric for house C – 1 rectangle 1” x 5-1/4” blue fabric for house D – 4 rectangles 1” x 1-1/4” blue fabric for house E – 1 rectangle 1” x 2-3/4” blue fabric for house F – 1 square 1” x 1” blue fabric for chimney G– 1 rectangle 1-1/2” x 7” light fabric for sashing H – 3 squares 1’’ x 1’’ light fabric for window I – 1 rectangle 1” x 3-1/4” light fabric for door J – 1 rectangle 1” x 2-1/2” light fabric K – 1 square 1” x 1” light fabric
